For the month of September, in lieu of our regularly scheduled VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting, we will be participating in the ASNE / VSRA Joint Luncheon and Afternoon Keynote Meeting during the Fleet Maintenance & Modernization Symposium (FMMS) on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th Street, Virginia Beach, VA from 11:45 AM to 2:15 PM.

The August VSRA General Membership meeting was held at the Ted Constant Convocation, ODU on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. The guest speaker was Governor Glenn Youngkin. We broke all records for the largest attendance in VSRA’s history with more than 220 of our VSRA members attending.  

Two concepts common to work operations which are typically used for different purposes and reasons are safety and common sense. While seemingly unrelated, these concepts sometimes come crashing together after an occurrence, near miss, incident, or accident. The question of why an employee was not working safely is often answered with a comment on the employee’s ability to use common sense when performing their work.
