The February General Membership Luncheon meeting was held at the Ted Constant Center at ODU on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The guest speaker was Congressman Rob J. Wittman, who serves the First Congressional District of Virginia.

The March VSRA General Membership meeting of 2023 will be held in-person at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel, International Ballroom, 3rd Floor on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. The speaker for the meeting will be Rear Admiral (RDML) Jason Lloyd for Naval Engineering and Logistics, SEA 05, Naval Sea Systems Command.

On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 10:22 pm, a 16-inch/50-Mark 7 barrel, stretching 70 feet long, weighing 120 tons, entered the gates of Marine Specialty Painting in Portsmouth, Virginia to be revitalized and placed at Fort Story, for viewing in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

This is a 1/2 day seminar sponsored by the VSRA Human Resources Committee and offered to VSRA members and non-members. The seminar covers a variety of topics essential to the HR Professional. Registration launches March 1, 2023 for the VSRA Human Resources Professional Developments Seminar scheduled for Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

Your active and engaged Virginia Ship Repair Foundation (VSRF) Board of Directors has embarking on a new partnership in summer of 2022 with the Virginia Wesleyan University (VWU).  This partnership was forged with the goal and objective to provide valued educational opportunities to our VSRA member companies and their employees. VWU has developed four off the shelf educational programs for our ship repair industry students.

Many of the programs and initiatives produced by the Virginia Ship Repair Association & Foundation rely on dedicated volunteers from our membership. Your expertise helps us promote the Ship Repair Industry within the community and inform the future generation of workers about the benefits of a career in ship repair.

The 37th Annual VSRF Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Cypress Point Country Club, 5340 Club Head Road, Virginia Beach, VA  23455.

The Virginia Ship Repair Association, in partnership with the Virginia Ship Repair Foundation, conducts outreach, awareness, and advocacy activities that strengthen the ship repair industry and improve the business environment for our members.
