The Virginia Ship Repair Race Night at Langley Speedway was held on Saturday, June 8th, and was a great success. Thank you to all our member companies that came out.

The evening was filled with music, food, and entertainment provided by the Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway. Over 700 people from the maritime industry were in attendance. The 2023 Senior and Junior VSRF Tradespersons of the Year, Bradford Major of General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk, and Christian Fitzgerald of Tecnico, were on hand to present trophies and wave the green flag.

We are excited to announce our upcoming 2024 VSRA Annual Member Networking Social on Thursday, July 25th, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at ODU's Ted Constant Convocation Center, Chartway Arena in the Big Blue Room! 

We value your Membership in the Virginia Ship Repair Association and want to ensure that you're getting as much out of your Membership as possible. Therefore, we're excited to announce the return of VSRA 101! These FREE lunch-and-learn sessions are intended to provide orientation to new VSRA Members as well as re-introduce current Members to the many benefits and initiatives of VSRA.

The next VSRA 101 Lunch-and-Learn session is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2023 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center, Chartway Arena, ODU, Big Blue Room. 

We have 4 New Member companies and 1 Reinstatement Member company from May 2024  This brings our Membership Total to “316.” 

VSRA's Committees are open to all members and meet regularly to discuss a range of topics pertinent to the industry. Active participants in these committees are recognized as leaders both in their specific areas of expertise and in the committee structure. Members are encouraged to engage in these meetings to not only share their knowledge but also to collaborate on addressing mutual concerns, shaping the association's positions, and developing educational content for the broader membership.

Many of the programs and initiatives produced by the Virginia Ship Repair Association & Foundation rely on dedicated volunteers from our membership. Your expertise helps us promote the Ship Repair Industry within the community and inform the future generation of workers about the benefits of a career in ship repair.

Virginia Wesleyan University Global Campus offers comprehensive non-degree continuing education courses designed to provide advanced skill sets valued by employers. VWU Global Campus—in partnership with the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development—is offering the following professional development online courses at no cost.

Hampton Roads Veterans Employment Center holds a weekly webinar called "How to Maximize Your Military Recruitment Efforts in Hampton Roads" where they go through topics to help give better avenues to hire military veterans that match what you are looking for.

Old Dominion University works with their students to connect them with different internships, co-ops, and apprenticeships that matches the department they are in to have seamless student placement. ODU does this through their Monarch Internship and Co-op Office.
