VSRA's Committees are open to all members and meet regularly to discuss a range of topics pertinent to the industry. Active participants in these committees are recognized as leaders both in their specific areas of expertise and in the committee structure. Members are encouraged to engage in these meetings to not only share their knowledge but also to collaborate on addressing mutual concerns, shaping the association's positions, and developing educational content for the broader membership.

We value your Membership in the Virginia Ship Repair Association and want to ensure that you're getting as much out of your Membership as possible. Therefore, we're excited to announce the return of VSRA 101! These FREE lunch-and-learn sessions will be held twice a year, and are intended to provide orientation to new VSRA Members as well as re-introduce current Members to the many benefits and initiatives of VSRA.

The next VSRA 101 Lunch-and-Learn session is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2023 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center, ODU, Big Blue Room. 

Established in 2006, the Virginia Ship Repair Foundation’s Tradesperson of the Year Awards recognize excellence in the ship repair industry workforce. Each year we get numerous nominations in two categories to determine the winners for the year. The Junior awardee has less than 5 years experience in trade experience, the Senior 5 years or more in trade experience. 

We value the vital role our tradesmen play in ensuring the strength of our Naval defense. Help us recognize the best in their field! 

Registration is now open for the VSRA 28th Annual Safety & Health Seminar scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center, Chartway Arena, ODU.  Be sure to secure your seat!

The 38th Annual VSRF Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Cypress Point Country Club, 5340 Club Head Road, Virginia Beach, VA  23455.

Many of the programs and initiatives produced by the Virginia Ship Repair Association & Foundation rely on dedicated volunteers from our membership. Your expertise helps us promote the Ship Repair Industry within the community and inform the future generation of workers about the benefits of a career in ship repair.

Virginia Wesleyan University Global Campus offers comprehensive non-degree continuing education courses designed to provide advanced skill sets valued by employers. VWU Global Campus—in partnership with the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development—is offering the following professional development online courses at no cost.

Hampton Roads Veterans Employment Center holds a weekly webinar called "How to Maximize Your Military Recruitment Efforts in Hampton Roads", where they go through topics to help give better avenues for hiring military veterans that match what you are looking for.

Old Dominion University works with their students to connect them with different internships, co-ops, and apprenticeships that matches the department they are in to have seamless student placement. ODU does this through their Monarch Internship and Co-op Office.
