A native of Ocean Springs, MS, Robert Beech enlisted in the United States Navy in December 1985. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, FL, he reported to Naval Submarine School Command, Groton, CT. where he completed requirements to serve in the US Navy Submarine Force.
His Navy career included several sea assignments as a member of Navigation Division onboard USS LAJOLLA SSN 701 and USS JACKSONVILLE (SSN-699), Navigation Division Chief Petty Officer onboard USS BOISE (SSN-764) and PCU MINNESOTA (SSN 783), Chief of the Boat onboard USS PHILADELPHIA (SSN-690) and PCU WASHINGTON (SSN-785).
His shore duty assignments include COMSUBLANT as Operations Department Chief Petty Officer, COMSUBLANT Tactical Readiness Team (TRE Team) Senior Navigation Evaluator, Force Assistant Navigator to Commander Submarine Force Atlantic and the Command Master Chief COMSUBLANT NAVSEA DET Newport News Shipyard.
After a 30-year career in the Navy Robert retired from the Navy in October of 2015, he transitioned into the private sector as a Program/Project Manager at L3Harris. His primary responsibility was the support of alteration and modernization work conducted on submarines and surface ships.
He assumed his current duties as VP of Business Development in October 2022-Present with Shipyard Staffing and NSC Staffing January 2024.
Robert is married to the former Michelle Downing of Concord, CA. They reside in the Chesapeake, VA and are the proud parents of one son: Michael and two grandsons Caiden and Bryson.
