Shipboard Cableway Inspection (February 4-6)

This course is under the oversight of HII Technical Solutions and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (February 4-5)

The OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry course awards the 10-Hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, shipyard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Workforce Development Committee Meeting

This meeting’s topic is 'Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in support of the Maritime Industry’ – A Look at Industry’s critical need and demand for, and ongoing efforts to obtain the services provided by Non-Destructive Test Inspectors and Examiners. Our meeting will include four presentations: a presentation by Mr. Justin Scarce of the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program, with a focus on ATDM’s NDT training program; a presentation and discussion led by Mr. Chris Emerick, a Level III NDT Examiner with Fairlead, a key partner of the Hampton Roads maritime industry; an introduction to Advanced Integrated Technologies (AIT), to include a presentation provided by Mr. Matthew Masciangelo about AIT’s NDT services to the Hampton Roads maritime industry; an introductory presentation by Mr. Andrew Gladstein of East Coast Polytechnic Institute (ECPI) and the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI), as he discusses the schools’ plans to establish and develop an NDT program in direct support of the this region’s maritime industry.  At the conclusion of each presentation, representatives will field questions, provide answers, and lead discussions which will center on the Non-Destructive Testing trade skill, and their ongoing efforts to address the ever-present need of the region’s maritime industry for essential NDT services.

Emergency First Response Certification (February 28)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response Refresher (February 28)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.
