Human Resources Committee Meeting

The Human Resources Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m., at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Parking is available in the Town Point Parking Garage on Main Street directly across the street from the World Trade Center building.  Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

Contracts Committee Meeting

The Contracts Committee meeting has been moved to Friday, September 7th,  9:30 a.m. at Troutman Sanders for the month of September.

OSHA 10-Hour Maritime #7615

The OSHA 10-hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course 7615 in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. The completion card is valid for 5 years at which time the course must be repeated. Our instructors a OSHA accepted certified to conduct this class and grant the award of certification cards. Cards are issued through the Instructor’s certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

4th Annual Shipyard Show 'n' Shine

The 4th Annual Shipyard Show ‘n’ Shine is to be held on September 8th at BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair. This is the only car show held in a shipyard in the world!

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.  The QA Committee session will begin immediately following the QMB session.

The Fleet Maintenance & Modernization Symposium (FMMS) 2012 is specifically designed to provide useful information and valuable networking opportunities for those who are involved in maintenance, refit, repair, conversion, modernization, service, and support of naval ships and craft.

VSRA General Membership & FMMS Joint Luncheon Meeting

National Maritime Education Council (NMEC) Reception

Emergency First Response (September 19, 2012)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

National Maritime Education Council (NMEC) Meeting

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (September 20, 2012)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

17th Annual Safety & Health Seminar

VSRA hosts a Safety & Health seminar each year for the benefit of its members and employees. This event is sponsored by the Safety Committee. This is a dynamic day of presentations, activities and networking for employees who ensure their personal safety and those around them.
