Human Resources Committee Meeting

Join the VSRA Human Resources Committee for a meeting in-person or virtually via Zoom!

Our January meeting will be focused on planning the Committee’s activities for 2022.  In particular, we’ll decide:  (1)  when to hold our annual Human Resources Seminar; (2)  whether it will be conducted virtually, in-person, or a combination of the two; (3) what topics we want to have addressed in it; and (4) what speakers we’d like to hear join us for it.  We’ll also come up with a list of topics and speakers for our Committee’s regular monthly meetings.  So please join us with your thoughts about the 2022 Seminar and your ideas and suggestions for making our 2022 slate of monthly meetings as informative and useful for as they can be for our members.  Looking forward to having you join us and to hearing lots of good ideas in this first session for the New Year!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (VSRA Office is Closed)

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (January 18-19)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Virtual VSRA General Membership Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held every month.

Cybersecurity Committee Meeting

Our January meeting's speaker will be Mr. John B. Massey, Deputy Assistant Director of Enterprise Security Operations at the Critical Technology Protection for Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

DCSA has been assigned eight (8) responsibilities in support of CUI management. Their focus initially is on CUI associated with classified contracts. Mr. Massey will provide an update on their planning and implementation and recommendations on what industry can do now.

The VSRA CMMC Preparation Working Group will also provide an update to YOUR issues/questions that have been submitted. Please continue to submit questions you’d like addressed by the working group to Cybersecurity@VirginiaShipRepair.org
