VSRA SAFETY SUGGESTION AWARD PROGRAM (QUARTERLY AND YEAR ENDING CASH AWARDS)

PURPOSE

VSRA’s Safety Suggestion Award Program allows employees of VSRA member companies to be recognized for safety ideas. These safety ideas will or have improved safety conditions and awareness in the workplace or otherwise added value to the company’s safety and health program. These safety ideas become useful safety suggestions that other VSRA member companies can use to improve safety in their work environment to help ensure employees go home safely to their families at the end of their workshift.

 

CRITERIA

Safety Suggestion must be an idea to improve safety conditions in the shipyard industry.

 

AWARDING WINNERS

1. Quarterly winners will receive recognition and a $500 award prize at a VSRA General Membership Meeting. 
2. Each quarter’s winning suggestion automatically receives the opportunity to win the annual award as the “best of the quarterly winners.”  The annual winner will receive recognition and a $1,000 award prize at our VSRA General Membership Meeting in January of the following year.
3. Winners will present their safety suggestion at a VSRA General Membership Meeting.
4. Nominators of winning safety suggestions receive a prize of $100 (quarterly winner) or $400 (annual winner).

 

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY

Submit safety suggestions by the end of the day on March 31 (1^st Quarter), June 30 (2^nd Quarter), September 30 (3^rd Quarter), and December 31 (4^th Quarter). Entries received after the deadline will automatically enter in the next quarter, entries must include:

• Phone Number
• Company Name

 

HOW DO I SUBMIT A SAFETY SUGGESTION

Submit Safety Suggestions electronically by:

• Online by visiting www.vsra.us/safer

Supporting documentation (i.e., photos, sketches, or display items) are highly encouraged. Submit supporting documentation with each safety suggestion.
