The Facility Security Officers (FSO) is responsible for the management of security of personnel and organizational facilities for kSARIA Corporation and kSARIA Service Corporation, located in Hudson, NH, Norfolk, VA, and San Diego, CA, as well as additional locations that may be added in the future. The FSO will supervise and direct security measures within the facilities and be responsible for creating a secure environment for employees, vendors, and company visitors. They manage daily activities regarding entry, video security, and other security devices. FSOs manage the visitor’s log, as well as review closed circuit recordings and provide functional support for physical security requirements. They manage access control to restricted areas, coordinate with upper management on security protocols and legal requirements, and analyze identification forms. The FSO is responsible for the management of the Corporation’s Facility Security Clearance.
Other tasks performed by FSOs include preparing and reviewing authorization requests for access to sensitive data, conducting employee investigations, providing security clearance, and providing assistance in training sessions for new security programs. They manage classified materials, and develop and implement effective security plans and evacuation initiatives. FSOs act as a liaison for government agencies and provide security information to new hires.
A bachelor's degree in industrial security or a similar field is preferred. The FSO must be a US Citizen and possess and active DOD clearance of SECRET or higher. Industry certifications are preferred, and previous experience as FSO or AFSO is required. The FSO must possess strong interpersonal skills and pay strong attention to detail to ensure security protocols are followed. They need to be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions with minimal information available. Additionally, the FSO must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and multitask on a variety of projects.
Facility Security Officer (FSO) Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Act as the Corporation Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and related instructions and requirements.
• Maintain working relationships with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other government agencies as the primary Point of Contact for Corporate security matters.
• Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions.
• Ensure all assigned facilities meet minimum contract and industry requirements.
• Manage personnel background checks, security clearances and new clearance investigations
• Participate in the development and execution of security education programs, overseas security briefings, and all other required training and education initiatives related to company operations.
• Supervise daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies.
• Perform access control responsibilities including managing badges, access cards and visit requests for company facilities, military bases, public and private shipyards, and other locations as required.
• Liaison with Prime Contractor and Subcontractor security officers as required to support Field Service Operations.
• Stay informed of potential contracting activities that may require access control measures, to include preparation, issue, and/or receipt of DD254 forms for cognizant Prime Contracts.
• Travel between organizational facilities such that each facility is visited at least quarterly.
• Conduct security audits.
• Stay informed of industry security trends and administer period training to cleared personnel.
• Attend workshops, seminars, and/or participate in other types of continuing education and training related to the FSO position.
Additional duties and responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage travel arrangements for Field Service personnel, with particular attention to travel outside the continental United States.
• Receive and process visit requests from training program clients prior to granting access to training classrooms.
• Support and assist the senior management team in other areas as may be required to ensure lean and efficient operation of the organization as a whole.
