Sales Account Manager

As an SAM you will evaluate, recommend and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Conducts and oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business activities and initiatives. May define vision, strategies, and tactics. May select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation and growth of the business. The primary responsibilities may include identifying new business opportunities, generating and developing new OEM alliances, as well as identifying businesses within the market for strategic acquisition.  Responsible for the development and expansion of new accounts and opportunities.  New business pursuits will involve multi-level and cross-division sales efforts, which will demand building credibility and developing relationships both externally and internally.  The SAM will support the Eastern United States and Atlantic Rim and will involve travel as required.

Your Challenges

  • Develops and maintains customer business relationships in domestic and international government markets

  • Establish and maintain close personal contact with top echelon customers through use of onsite client facing visits.  Travel required to locations within the Eastern United States and Atlantic Rim

  • Identifies and develops opportunities for business expansion and prepares details business cases and recommendations

  • Develops marketing strategies and provides input into long-range strategic business plans that will produce maximum market penetration

  • Ensure the effective use of sales and growth initiatives throughout the division and interpret long and short-term effect on sales strategies on operating profit and customer satisfaction

  • Interfaces with inside sales representatives and Business Development team to ensure pricing and technical accuracy of proposals

  • Acts as liaison with government agencies and office as needed. Maintains level of oversight to ensure compliance with industry regulations, regulatory agencies, export laws and technology transfer as they apply to proposal development and contract negotiation

  • Develop and implement contractual documents, master service agreements, small business plans, and mutual terms and conditions to ensure adherence to company policy, government and contract specifications and requirements

  • May conduct research assessments and due diligence activities

  • Structure, secures approval, and executes negotiation strategies to capture contracts for new and existing products and services

  • Attend a variety of conferences and other external meetings to explore and develop sales opportunities

  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives

  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation; tracks, monitors, and reports data to support proposal development

  • Becomes an integral part of a team that strives for continuous improvement by encouraging, initiating and/or executing improvement ideas

  • Assist with and support the various projects and initiatives within our service center locations

  • Other duties as necessary

 

What You Bring

  • Must be US Citizen and able to obtain DOD security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a technical field), or minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office

  • Strong sales and presentation skills

  • Background in engineering, sales or marketing in similar or related product, with technical sales experience preferred

  • Must have excellent relationship management skills and commitment to customer satisfaction with a proven track record in year over year sales growth

  • Experience utilizing and managing CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems such as Salesforce desirable

  • 4-6 years’ experience in industrial sales and repairs or equivalent highly preferred
