Laborer

The ideal Laborer will operate as part of a team of two or more individuals on jobsites assigned.  This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment onsite as well as assisting other members of the team as needed in the completion of construction projects.  Under the guidance of experienced team members, this position may be required to perform basic construction tasks (ie – hammering, cutting, measuring, loading, unloading, etc.).

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Maintaining a Clean and safe jobsite
  • Preparing construction includes cleaning, removing safety hazards, erecting scaffolding. or safety systems.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Assist other members of the crew as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to take direction.
  • General understanding of construction
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.

 Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 0-1 years prior experience
  • Experience with heavy machinery
  • Experience with power tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
  • Exposure to construction and marine site dangers.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Noisy environments.
  • Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
  • Able to traverse all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
