1st Class Electrician

Job Description: 1st Class electricians test, manufacture, troubleshoots, repair, red-line drawings and make design recommendations for electrical and electronic equipment. Technicians perform a wide variety of different tasks depending on the needs of the company. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -Knowledge of navy 60 and 400 Hz electrical systems. -Navy tag-out and WAF programs and procedures. -ISO Quality Assurance practices. -Maritime Safety practices. -Knowledge of Navy electronic systems. -Able to troubleshoot, disassemble, and inspect electrical equipment -Able to clean electrical equipment and parts using steam cleaning and solvents, reassemble, and operationally test equipment. -Knowledge of electrical systems such as switchboards, switchgear, distribution panels, controls, etc. -Fully versed in the use of all types of electrical measuring instruments, and of various electronic measuring devices, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, power analyzers and megohmmeters. -Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals. -Ability to plan and make working diagrams and circuits. -Capable of cable run fabrication and wire way fabrication -Working knowledge of trade mathematics and formulas in order to calculate voltage, amperes and resistance requirements and to determine size and types of material, such as controls, switches, distribution panels, fuses, etc. -Understanding of AESS system. Experience relating to load bank testing -Experience with cable fabrication and shore power connections a plus.. -Ability to work independently and with others. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent with Navy ā€˜A’ / ā€˜C’ school(s) or completion of some form of vocational, maritime, or electrical journeyman training program. If no additional training exists, required years of experience will be increased by 2 years. Total Target Experience: 8-10 years.
