The incumbent will act as the Lead Blaster/Sprayer during the application process of Thermal Spray nonskid. Directly responsible for managing a team of up to four people, hours, equipment, equipment set-up, robotic operation, support equipment and all other factions that is required to apply Thermal Spray nonskid.
Summary of responsibilities:
The ability to perform blasting and painting operations onboard Naval vessels
The ability to operate and provide a blast profile to steel substrate in accordance to Navy standards
The ability to operate industrial vacuum and dust collecting equipment
The ability and understanding of erecting small and large containment units used for blasting and spraying operations
Working knowledge of electrical connections of industrial equipment
Troubleshooting procedures for small and large support equipment
The ability to assemble and disassemble robotic equipment (training will be provided)
The ability to be a certified forklift driver
The ability to recognize and implement process improvements
The ability to perform quality assurance functions and submit required documentation
Perform preventative maintenance on robotic equipment and update documentation
Properly manage inventory and supplies to mitigate any wasted use of material and material support
Key requirements:
Ability to get RapidGate access
Valid driver’s license
A minimum of 5 years of experience working on ships or in Shipyard environment
Willingly able to travel for extended periods of time
Work flexible hours
Experience with Thermal Spraying is desired but not a requirement
The ability to pass drug screening
