Volunteer Spotlight

Many of the programs and initiatives produced by the Virginia Ship Repair Association & Foundation rely on dedicated volunteers from our membership. Your expertise helps us promote the Ship Repair Industry within the community and inform the future generation of workers about the benefits of a career in ship repair.

We are very fortunate for all of our volunteers, so we wanted to highlight events we have done and the companies with volunteers who donated their time to assisting:

  • Hampton High School Career Fair - Rob Beech and Ashley Miller from Shipyard Staffing
  • SkillsUSA Competition - Jeff Julian from Industry Preservation
  • Northside Middle School College & Career Fair - Sean Mathews from Bay Metals & Fabrication
  • Phenix PK-8 Career Day
  • Greenville County High School Career Fair - Victor Figuroa and Talbert Dunn fromGeneral Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk

VSRA has an online electronic Volunteer Interest Form. If you are interested in volunteering for events like Race Night, Golf Tournament, Seminars, and other Sporting Events; Annual Ship Repair Digital Innovation Competition (Formerly LEGO) as a Technical Advisor; and Career/Industry Days for High Schools and Middle schools, please let us know by completing the form and submitting. Even if you have signed up to volunteer in the past, please utilize this Volunteer Interest Form. This is so that we can obtain an up-to-date listing of volunteers for events. You can also locate the Volunteer Interest Form on our website under the Resources Tab.

Please check out our Upcoming 2024 Career Days listing on our website.

For any questions, interest or concerns please contact Billy Bingham: BBingham@virginiashiprepair.org or call (757) 233-7034.

Thank you for your consideration, and for your dedicated efforts in ensuring VSRA and ship repairers remain the Strength Behind the Fleet!
