VSRA's Committees are open to all members and meet regularly to discuss a range of topics pertinent to the industry. Active participants in these committees are recognized as leaders both in their specific areas of expertise and in the committee structure. Members are encouraged to engage in these meetings to not only share their knowledge but also to collaborate on addressing mutual concerns, shaping the association's positions, and developing educational content for the broader membership.

- Communications - Chair: Zebedee Hamilton (Craft and Technical Solutions, LLC)

During the previous meeting, the Communications Committee discussed the Newsletter, upcoming testimonial videos, VSRA 101 videos, volunteering, and more. There will be continued discussions over the communcation efforts from the Association on how to better share industry information to those in Hampton Roads in future meetings.
- Contracts - Chair: Tony Mazzeo (Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black PLC)

The Contracts Committee had their last meeting on March 6th, where Mr. Aaron Simmons, Technical Director for Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Centers presented on and discussed the revisions to NAVSEA Standard Items for FY26, along with other updates from CNRMC.

The Cybersecurity Committee had their last meeting on October 24th. The committee meeting had Kendra Queeney (Senior Manager, SCM Compliance & Operations at Huntington Ingalls Industries) as the guest speaker, discussing how they handle cybersecurity requirements and CMMC flow downs. Cybersecurity's next meeting on March 27th will be virtual only.
- Human Resources - Chair: Chris Abel (Willcox Savage)

The Human Resources Committee held its most recent meeting on March 5th with representatives from the Virginia Employment Commission, who addressed both ends of the employment relationship. There was discussion over the various services and options the VEC has to provide our member companies in finding and hiring qualified employees best suited to the needs of their workplace, and advice on the most effective ways for responding to and contesting former employees’ unemployment compensation claims received by the VEC.
Additionally, next month, there is no standard committee meeting in favor of 2025's Human Resources Professional Development Seminar.
- Quality Assurance - Chairs: Dennis Robbins (MHI Ship Repair and Services) and Casey Tarnowski (Lyon Shipyard, Inc.)

The Quality Assurance Committee just had their last meeting on January 14th, which was another of the usual QMB/QA Committee combined meetings which covered reviews of previous minutes, QMB meeting agenda items, action items, and more.
- Safety and Environmental - Chairs: Larry Ryan (MHI Ship Repair and Services), Donna Watkins (General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk), and Nate Stanton (General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk)

The Safety and Environmental Committee had their last meeting on March 13th, which covered updates on sub-committees, VSRA training, Hot Work permits, ladder safety, and the Environmental Seminar.

The Security Committee had their last meeting on March 4th which had guests from MARMC Industrial Security and PHYSEC in attendance. Also joining was Robert Baldwin and Chad Coffin from Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Industrial Security. Discussion over various subjects was had and the newly released SECNAV 5512 Form.
- Workforce Development - Chair: Tim Richardt (Hampton Roads Workforce Council)

The Workforce Development Committee had their last meeting on February 12th, which focused on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in support of the Maritime Industry. The meeting included four presentations that focused on industry's ongoing efforts to address the region’s need for essential NDT services.
