Clean the Bay Day

The Port of Virginia is holding its' Annual Clean the Bay Day at Plum Point Park in Norfolk, VA This is their 24th annual event. .

Security Committee Meeting

The Human Resources Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m., at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.  The QA Committee session will begin immediately following the QMB session.

EL2A Symposium: Industry Morning Session

The 1st VSRA Ship Repair Apprentice Symposium will be held in conjunction with the CME on June 12, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Panel Luncheon with Educators and Workforce Agencies. The morning session is reserved for industry meetings, with an open panel session from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for all attendees and invited guests. Apprentice Instructors, Production Managers, Recruiters and Industry Leaders are welcome to attend the event. Please contact mtomaszewski@virginiashiprepair.org for more information.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, followed by a lunch meeting with the general membership. The Chairman of the VSRA Board and the VSRA committee chairs report to the general membership at the monthly meeting, followed by a guest speaker's presentation. Each member company may have its designated representatives present at the general membership monthly luncheon meeting and is welcome to invite company guests.

2013 Mega Rust Naval Corrosion Conference

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Course #7615 (June 25-26)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for  Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course 7615 in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and enviromental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructos are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. The completion card is valid for 5 years at which time the course must be repeated. Our instructors an OSHA accepted certified to conduct this class and grany the award of certification cards. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Emergency First Response (June 26) (CANCELLED)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (June 27)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.
