The VSRA office is closed today in observance of New Year's Day.

Contracts Committee Meeting

The Contracts Committee Meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. will not take place due to proximity to New Year's Day.  Our next meeting will be the February engagement session with MARMC. Due to the MARMC team’s unavailability on the regularly scheduled day, we will hold the February meeting the following week, on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (January 6-7)

The OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry course awards the 10-Hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, shipyard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Happy New Year!  We hope you had a wonderful holiday. At this meeting, your Committee Chair will present the 2024 annual review.

Human Resources Committee Meeting

The next Human Resources Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

We have moved this date to accommodate for the New Year Holiday. Going forward all HR meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month. 

Our January meeting will be focused on planning the Committee’s activities for 2025.  In particular, we’ll decide:  (1) what topics we want to have addressed in our annual April HR Seminar; and (2) what speakers we’d like to hear join us for it.  We’ll also come up with a list of topics and speakers for our Committee’s regular monthly meetings in 2025.  So please join us with your thoughts about the 2024 Seminar and your ideas and suggestions for making our 2025 slate of monthly meetings as informative and useful for as they can be for our members.  Looking forward to having you join us and to hearing lots of good ideas in this first session of the New Year!

Quality Assurance Committee Meeting

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

The combined QMB & Quality Assurance Committee Meeting Minutes are now being posted on the Quality Assurance Committee webpage.

Parking is available in the Town Point Parking Garage on Main Street directly across the street from the World Trade Center building.  Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

Leadership Course (January 27-29)

VSRA has partnered with Virginia Wesleyan University to provide a 2-and-a-half day Leadership course, upon successful completion attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion from Virginia Wesleyan University sponsored by the VSRA.
