On a stunning October morning, the 38th Annual Virginia Ship Repair Foundation Golf Tournament at Cypress Point Country Club was a resounding success, echoing the legacy of past tournaments.
In a thrilling response, all available golfer slots were filled within 2 minutes of opening registration, setting yet another impressive record. This year, we were honored by the backing of 71 member companies, who joined as sponsors, contributors, or volunteers, demonstrating their steadfast commitment to the Foundation’s initiatives.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Bay Metal & Fabrication, LLC, for their generous donation of a fantastic Grand Prize: a $2,500 Gift Certificate to Virginia Golf Vacations. This prize includes a two-night stay and three rounds of golf for four people! Participants had the chance to win a variety of exciting prizes, including golf bags, Yeti coolers, and two 65” televisions. Congratulations to all the winners!
As a new tradition, we’re thrilled to introduce the VSRF Golf Trophy, which will now be awarded annually, with each first place winning team’s name engraved to honor their achievement. The inaugural champions of this prestigious trophy are the Electric Motor & Contracting Co., Inc. team, followed closely by Integrity Staffing Services in second place and EMS Ice, Inc. in third. Congratulations to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event so memorable.
At the post-golf celebration, Brain Holland, Vice-Chairman of the VSRA Board of Directors, extended heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors and volunteers. The day concluded with a meal and award ceremony, celebrating the dedication and competitive spirit of all involved.
The tournament stands as a proud tradition, underscoring our industry’s commitment to ship repair awareness, workforce development, and community outreach. The Virginia Ship Repair Foundation owes its success to the unwavering support of our sponsors, patrons, and volunteers—thank you for making this event a triumph.
As the sun set on another fantastic tournament, we eagerly anticipate the 39th Annual Virginia Ship Repair Foundation Golf Tournament next October. Preparations for the 2025 tournament will begin soon, and we encourage everyone to mark their calendars for early registration in February. We look forward to seeing you next year to celebrate our industry and love of golf.
