VSRA March Luncheon: Congresswoman Jen Kiggans to Speak

The Virginia Ship Repair Association is pleased to announce that Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (VA-02) will be the featured guest speaker at the March General Membership Luncheon, taking place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Representing Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, which includes a significant portion of the Hampton Roads region, Congresswoman Kiggans brings a wealth of experience in both public service and military affairs.

A former Navy helicopter pilot and geriatric nurse practitioner, Kiggans serves on key congressional committees that influence policies affecting the ship repair industry and the regional workforce. As a strong advocate for defense, veterans’ affairs, and workforce development, she has worked on initiatives aimed at strengthening the U.S. military, ensuring ship maintenance and modernization efforts remain a priority, and expanding job training programs to support skilled labor needs.

At the March Luncheon, Kiggans is expected to discuss key aspects of our industry. VSRA members and industry partners are encouraged to attend this luncheon for an opportunity to hear directly from Congresswoman Kiggans and engage in discussions about the future of the maritime workforce and defense sector.
