VSRA Web Tips: Members and Users

With the launch of our new website, we want to make things as simple as possible for you. So we would like to bring to your attention a few important things you may encounter.

The first is the difference between a MEMBER and a USER.

Members include the actual company itself (example. ABC Paint). While a member company has an ‘account’ no individual person actually logs in as the company. Instead a user has his/her own ‘user account’ (example; I would have my own user account ‘ijones’ and am listed as being an employee of ABC Paint).

Member Companies MUST have at least one User who can edit the Company information (i.e. billing, profile, contact information). The company MUSTchoose one user to be a member administrators who can then change the permissions of other users and the company’s information. Contact us to assign an employee to be the Administrator.

Users may have other permissions and the ability to make alterations. For example, a user may choose which committee lists they want to be on, while another user may have access to the QA system.

Finally, we have the company Point of Contact (PoC); each company can have up to two PoCs. The PoC has the same powers as the member administrator however this is the person we will contact with information about events, seminars, and other correspondence. We hope this gives you a little better idea of how users within the new website work. As always if you have any further questions please send us an email or give us a call.
