Human Resources Committee Meeting

Our January meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 17, 2023. Going forward our HR Meeting will resume being scheduled on the first Wednesday of each month. We are rescheduling this meeting for the New Year holiday.

Join the VSRA Human Resources Committee for a meeting in-person or virtually via Zoom!

Our January meeting will be focused on planning the Committee’s activities for 2024.  In particular, we’ll decide:  (1)  when to hold our annual Human Resources Seminar; (2)  whether it will be conducted virtually, in-person, or a combination of the two; (3) what topics we want to have addressed in it; and (4) what speakers we’d like to hear join us for it.  We’ll also come up with a list of topics and speakers for our Committee’s regular monthly meetings.  So please join us with your thoughts about the 2022 Seminar and your ideas and suggestions for making our 2024 slate of monthly meetings as informative and useful for as they can be for our members.  Looking forward to having you join us and to hearing lots of good ideas in this first session for the New Year!

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (January 30-31)

The OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry course awards the 10-Hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, shipyard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held every month.
